Travel Field Notes 02
Recap from my recent trip to Florence and Forte dei Marmi—including the best shopping in Florence, to under-the-radar spots in Tuscany's bougie beach town...
Hello, hello! I owe you an update! I’m so sorry for going quiet the past couple of weeks. As I mentioned in our subscriber chat, June has been a whirlwind of travel, with work trips and weddings one after the other. But I’m making it up to you now with a full recap from my recent trip to Florence, and somewhat unexpectedly, Forte dei Marmi. I know, kind of random for me because Forte dei Marmi isn’t exactly my usual, err, vibe. But after a very HOT week in Florence (we’re talking 97°F / 36°C), we were desperate to escape to the nearest seaside town after my cousin’s wedding. It’s easy to get dissuaded by places like this—where the vibe can feel all overpriced beach clubs, overhyped restaurants, and designer shops most of us can’t actually afford. But there are always a few authentic, well-priced gems tucked away—and of course, I made it my mission to find them. Overall, I’ve got some good stuff to share, like new shopping discoveries in Florence (as well as some of my forever favorites), and for when you’re ready to beat the heat, my under-the-radar finds in Forte dei Marmi that you probably won’t find anywhere else ;)
